Installed on a 4 year old 3 door with Maxxis AT980 tyres. Cons - Ride gets bumpier Pros - Corners flatter, no more bump steer. Takes a few days to get use to the harsher ride but the tendency to follow contours of the road requiring constant correction has all but disappear. Tracks like the 5 door Jimny, just not as softer ride. Done about 250ks on urban, state highway and winding country roads since installation. Happy with these shocks.

Simple to install but life made easier with a 17mm ratchet spanner for access to mounting nuts. Good improvement over standard and damping control has greatly increased, jimny now behaves as it should and settles quickly with no "wobble" or lack of control like the standard shocks. The Squirrel's been caged.
Before fitting these my jimny would hit a bump and bound off randomly like a squirrel protecting its nuts. Admittedly I am running steelies with a 13mm positive offset so there is a bit more unsprung mass there, but shocks put the squirrel in a cage and is using it as a seat cushion. Well worth it after two years of thinking "it cannot be that different". Well it is! Side note the wife can knit now without loosing stitches and doesn't feel queasy doing it so they got her seal of approval as well.

Easy to change. Only two spanner’s, and a ratchet required. Takes about an hour. Slightly firmer ride, but not as hard as most modern cars with low profile tyres. Got used to the firmer ride within 100k, now the norm. No longer feels like it’s going to tip over around roundabouts, sweeping bends are a dream! Gravel roads seem like normal roads, maybe even smoother. If you’re having doubts about buying these, don’t, just buy them! You won’t regret it! Worth every dollar!

I was very skeptical about these, how could shocks make such a difference? It was the last mod I made but actually should have been the first! Doing it over I would do tires first as the stock ones are really really bad and then these….. No more rear end skipping around corners, much more planted on the road, huge difference in the wind, you still feel it but you don’t get pushed offline. Corrugations on shingle roads much more manageable, before they were dangerous. It is a firmer ride but totally worth it.

Bought a set of these KYB Skorched 4's Heavy Duty shocks for our 2022 JB74 Jimny. </p> <p>Looking to cure its drunken handling, lurching from place to place with little hope of moving in a straight line.</p> <p>Delighted to discover how easy it is to swap in these shocks. Tools required: 14mm and 17mm ring-open-end spanners and a small adjustable. That's all. Didn't need to jack the car or remove any wheels. Less than an hour on my back - job done. Out with the old and in with the new.</p> <p>Safety check: jacked corners of the chassis up until wheels were fully in the air and was happy to find that even with the shocks being somewhat longer than factory when extended (to accommodate longer springs if you want a raised ride height) the standard springs remain firmly captive at full droop.</p> <p>Took the wee beast for a three hour blat along some seriously sad twisty tarmac and a good dose of sqiggly loose metal roads. Spanked it hard staying between 4 and 6 thousand rpm as you do. Gusty with rain showers, stormy kinda day. </p> <p>Utterly planted. No mad wobble, no crazy bounce. No more bump-steer or being blown sideways. No axle tramping and loss of grip on corrugations. Still have standard springs but these shocks have completely tamed the little lout. Night and day difference. Stoked.</p> <p>I now have a robust yet agile wee beast that can be driven properly hard. On or off road - with confidence and a smile on my dial.</p> <p>Suzuki ought to fit these shocks as standard on the Jimny.</p> <p>Go on, do it!
